The Will
Alex Jeffery’s “The Will” was a fantastic film to work on! This intense 25 minute film was heavy on the dialogue so much of my time was spent cutting it and matching the ADR.
Not only was there a lot of dialogue, there was a ton of sound effects that was cut in with the music, so the balance between dialogue, music, effects, and the usage of silence was key in helping the story progress. What I loved about the film is that the story called for a fairly big dynamic range. Comedic and “in your face” moments were spread out through the film, which sound helped accent, especially the score, which was composed by Aric Damm, the lead actor in the movie! I think the score was phenomenal being that there were “pockets” left open for my sound effects to cut through, so nothing was competing for attention.
The Will is currently making its rounds through various film festivals and I’ll update this page for screening information!
