The George Lacson Project
This month I wrapped up two albums – one of the albums was produced by my good friend George Lacson! He’s a phenomenal bass player who I’ve worked with on other music projects, but for the past couple months, we were vigorously working on his first album! The results were amazing! It was an complete honor and a lot of fun to record and mix all the songs on his jazz/blues album. An interesting fact about George is that he also plays with the famous John Lee Hooker, Jr. as they tour across the United States. The George Lacson album will be coming out this year. More updates, music demos, and pictures to come!
Although I do a lot of film and post-production work, I still have a strong passion for music engineering. There’s nothing like it!
I had the opportunity to record and mix the entire album at Polarity Post Production in Studio 5, which is also owned by Drew Youngs and his company, Earthwire. Many many many thanks to Roger and Drew for letting me do this project with the ICON. Also, many thanks to upcoming engineer Daniel Velarde for helping me out with this project.
Here’s the man, George Lacson:

Check out my acoustic bass miking technique! 416 in the F-hole combined with the U87 did the trick!
